Hmmm, if I secretly hide a few smurf windchimes in my cousin's house, will he be tormented by deemunz?

They made me throw away a windchime!!!
by quellycatface ini had a lovely mirrored windchime in my house.
my study conductor told me it attracted deemunz and i threw it in the trash.
i've since bought another.. what's the reasoning behind that idiocy??

Merry Pantsmas Everyone!
by Billy the Ex-Bethelite inokay, i posted this in a thread that got locked and buried.
since then i've been really busy and have overdosed on christmas music in the past week.
so, i'm resurrecting this "holy day" holiday that most people will unknowingly be celebrating tomorrow.

But they are only 8 imperfect men!!!
by notsurewheretogo ini'm fed up of my still-in wife using this excuse that they can utter wrong beliefs and doctrines.. .
the fact that there are imperfect humans involved in the organisation is very much irrelevant.. .
we all accept, including jdubs, that these men are just men who may think and say wrong things like the rest of us as they go about their own lives.

The best response I could come up with for my parents use of this line was to agree.
"Yes, I certainly agree that they are imperfect men, and we can keep that in mind when we listen to their opinions expressed in their talks."
And regarding the direction they give.
"Perhaps they are being used by god to some extent now, but as we've seen, what was the truth from god for decades can suddenly be changed in one paragraph of one WT study. So we can expect that further new light will be coming down the road. To put our full confidence in what we are being taught right now would be very short-sighted. Rather than to heartily promote some current teaching, we need to wait on Jehovah in order to see if a particular understanding coming from WT is correct."

Anybody have ideas about the double slit experiement with particles, how they react based on a human mind observing them?
by EndofMysteries inhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfpeprq7ogc.
that's just crazy, that if the particles are being monitored and data recorded, they act exactly as we 'think' they should act.
however if they are not being monitored and no way to watch them, then they act completely different and more random.

Evidently a triviality that only chemical engineers would bother discussing. LOL.

"Heisenberg uncertainty principle come into play here?"
I think Heisenberg is about accuracy. This double slit quandry seems to be more about "observer effect".

As much as I suffered with quantum mechanics in both physics and chemistry classes, I wouldn't call the results of the experiment "crazy."
Unfortunately, the video is about as thorough as an Awake! article, but I'll take a shot at something that seems to be missing. I think the particular detail that would cause confusion is that they make it look like you just use an eyeball to observe quantum particles. If it were that simple, we could just look around our homes to find any carbon monoxide leaks. You can't observe such tiny particles with the naked eye... and in the dark. If you want to detect them optically, you will need to use light, which is composed of photons, which are also quantum particles. If you try to find the path of a tennis ball by throwing a bunch of tennis balls at it, the path of the first tennis ball will be affected, obviously. Similarly, if you try to detect the location of a particle using a magnetic field, the path of the particle will be changed simply by trying to "observe" it.
I can't exactly clarify things with a paragraph and a couple of illustrations. And I certainly wouldn't consider myself an expert on quantum physics, or much of anything, really. The applications I studied were with respect to quantum mechanics explaining temperature, semi-conductivity, light absorption and emission, and chemical reactivity. And there was a lot of math involved, although not even hinted at in that youtube video.
The subject of quantum mechanics explaining faith never came up at the university, and this was with a devout Jewish professor. The subject of quantum mechanics explaining faith never came up when I was in bethel, and I was rather involved with both Teaching and Writing Departments. The only relation I can see is that my faith in any of WT promises has become smaller than a Higgs particle.

CO overruling elders on appointments
by toto555 inif a brother wants to reach out to be elder, yet brothers are holding him back for dubious reasons, can/should a brother approach the co and ask him what he needs to be done to be appointed or perhaps having a discussion along the lines of why the elders are holding him unfairly back.
anybody have any experiences along these lines?
is this a good strategy?
-
Billy the Ex-Bethelite
Perhaps the brother that hasn't been appointed needs to whip out his penis and show it to the elders and CO just to make sure that they understand he really is a dude and not a woman just pretending to be a dude in order to get appointed.
Unless the person really is a woman pretending to be a dude in order to get appointed. In which case I say, "YOU GO GIRL!!"

"How can girls guard against temptation in this sex-crazy world?"
by Apognophos inthis is from the questions from readers in the 12/15/61 watchtower.
i present it unabridged and without comment.
your own comments, however, are welcome.. "when a girl reaches the age of puberty or physical maturity, her body has developed in the matter of sex more than in the mind.

After reading this article, those female cattle should be really ashamed of themselves for being such sluts around the bulls. The way they give in to their sinful bovine sexual desire with bulls to whom they are not scripturally married is an abomination. Just look at all these whores!
At least in the "new world soon to arrive" there won't be any such immoral animals, they will all be properly married.
And if they dare to engage in sexual activity outside of the marriage, the animals will be slaughtered and eatten.

At the moment, my favorite recipes just involve opening a bottle, pouring, drinking. Then I forget how to cook.
Clearly it's all the fault of the grocery store to have nearly all their wine and liquor on sale.
